20th October 2022 - Author: Kane Wells

Inver Re, The Ardonagh Group’s reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Chris Carney to the new role of Head of Commercial Operations.

Carney holds over three decades of insurance experience, including time spent at Marsh UK as COO of the Markets Division, and at Willis UK as Executive Director of Global Placement.

He has also founded his own consultancy firm, Verticalised Consulting.

Carney joins from CGI UK where he was Director of Consulting, delivering client-responsive solutions.

In the new role, he will be leading on operational model design and be responsible for the development of consulting services and solutions to meet clients’ needs as the reinsurance and bespoke risk strategy specialist continues to grow.

Tremor - The modern way to place reinsurance

Inver Re London CEO Jonathan Prinn commented on the appointment, stating, “I’m very happy to have Chris join the Inver Re team, as we continue in our ambition to be a client-centric, agile broker – and provide independent choice in the market.

“Chris has significant experience in delivering innovative service propositions, from creating highly successful e-placing platforms, to managing internal broker MGAs and developing exposure analytics services for carriers. His technical expertise and proven track record are exactly what we need as we pursue our growth plans.”

Carney himself added, “The opportunity to build a new, innovative and hugely compelling proposition is incredibly exciting. With the backing of the Ardonagh Group, I believe Inver Re is changing the market – and I’m looking forward to making sure we have the skills, processes and technology to exceed our client’s expectations.

“I can’t wait to get under the skin of the business, consult with clients, understand their needs – and get stuck into delivery.”

The appointment comes at a time of expansion for Inver Re, having hired Guy Bowker, formerly of Enstar, to lead its entry into the legacy sector last month.
