Langhorne Re, a global reinsurer with a focus on large in-force life and annuity blocks, has announced the retirement of its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Marvin Pestcoe.
As a result, Andrew Markus has been promoted to succeed him as CEO.
As part of the transition, Pestcoe is set to remain remain on Langhorne Re’s board through the end of 2021.
Markus, who has also been elected to the firm’s board, has been with Langhorne Re since its inception.
He’s served as a consultant to the company in connection with its capital raise and then as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Langhorne Holdings LLC and its Bermuda-based subsidiaries.
Markus began his career at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York and has spent over a decade in Bermuda, previously working in increasingly senior roles at RenaissanceRe and Maritime Finance Company.
