The MDS Group, part of The Ardonagh Group, has announced the appointment of Adrián Larrondo as Global Director of its Marine Business, a Madrid-based role.
Larrondo will leverage his more than three decades of international experience in the maritime and insurance sectors, to lead the international development of this business line.
He will be responsible for driving the strategy for the area, strengthening the value proposition for clients with complex and cross-border operations, as well as consolidating MDS’s presence in key markets across the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.
Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions at companies such as JLT Insurance Brokers, March JLT, and Grupo CSAV, where he was responsible for insurance, claims, loss prevention, and legal advisory services.
His expertise spans across different geographies, including Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
Before joining MDS, he successfully managed his own specialised consulting firm and served as an external agent for marine business in Latin America within the international Howden RS alliance.
He brings a unique combination of strong legal background, deep technical knowledge in marine insurance, and an international business perspective.
Larrondo’s appointment reinforces MDS Group’s commitment to specialisation, support for internationalisation, and the global growth of its marine insurance operations, the firm noted.
Moreover, it aligns with the Group’s vision of providing a specialised service, supported by a strong and multidisciplinary international team, with professionals based in Spain and Latin America.
