Lions Gate Underwriting, an independent underwriting agency and Lloyd’s coverholder, has appointed Mario Andrade to the Lions Gate Latin America underwriting team as managing director of its financial lines division.
Based in Mexico, Andrade will lead the consolidation and growth of Lions Gate Latin America’s financial lines offering in the region, which include D&O, E&O, Media Liability.
He has spent more than 12 years of his career at top-tier re/insurers including AIG and Zurich, where he was head of underwriting financial lines and most recently New Line Syndicate.
Andrade commented: “By expanding and optimising existing distribution channels as well as creating new ones, the Latin American financial lines market presents great opportunities.
“Cedant insurance companies and our producers have an attractive business proposition that we want to promote proactively and efficiently. For this reason, our main objective from day one will be to consolidate the E&O and D&O mid-market in the region through strategic alliances with local companies and partners. We will use technology to create new ways of bringing these coverages closer to end customers.
