The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has appointed Guy Dormer as head of underwriting strategy, a newly-created role.
Dormer’s appointment is effective immediately and is considered an opportunity for the company to leverage considerable strategic and corporate development experience in the global P&C insurance market.
Joining from Starstone Insurance Group, Dormer most recently served as group head of corporate development.
Before that he was a corporate development and strategy manager for Hiscox, leading all M&A and corporate development activities for the group.
“I am delighted to welcome Guy to the LMA to lead the charge on strategic underwriting projects, such as the move to principles-based regulation and the implementation of the new LIC operating model,” said LMA underwriting director Patrick Davison.
“Guy’s exceptional abilities are ideally suited to supporting the market with significant projects such as this and wider efforts to continually improve underwriting expertise within the Lloyd’s market.”
