Lockton Insurance Brokers has appointed Harpreet Ubhi and Reid Eanes as Managing Directors to lead the Lockton Financial Services Practice (LFS).

Ubhi and Eanes collectively bring over 30 years of industry experience, specialising in directors & officers liability, employment practices liability, corporate governance risk management, private equity and corporate acquisitions across all industry sectors.

Ubhi has just under 18 years of experience, where he served as Assistant Vice President of Private Equity and M&A Services at Marsh before joining Lockton’s LFS team in 2008.

Prior to this appointment he was Senior Vice President, Pacific North LFS Practice Leader.

Eanes joined Lockton’s LFS team 15 years ago and has served in various leadership roles since 2013, most recently as Pacific South LFS Practice Leader.

Executive Vice President & Managing Director Dana Kopper, who is expected to retire at the end of the year, will continue on at Lockton as a senior advisor to oversee a smooth transition.

Kopper commented: “After 18 years of leading LFS Pacific, I am thrilled to pass the torch to Harpreet and Reid, who have been working closely with me in leading our practice for many years.

“They are some of the most qualified financial risk advisors in our industry with unrivaled reputations and depth of experience. They have not only earned the trust of clients, carriers and associates alike, but their leadership will be vital to continuing the legacy of service excellence and unwavering commitment to clients that we have built for nearly two decades.”

Ubhi said: “Our focus will be perpetuating and building on the legacy we inherited from Dana, who grew this practice from the ground up to become the largest, most vibrant LFS practice within the Lockton organisation.

“At the centre of this growth is our people and clients. The longevity, cohesiveness and technical expertise of our team, who work in close collaboration with our broker and claims groups, consistently drive positive outcomes for our clients.”

Eanes added:“We have a deep bench of talented professionals who thrive on helping clients prepare for the unexpected and, when faced with unpredictable events, adapt and overcome.”

“Take this year; in the middle of a global pandemic, we added many new team members, executed a plan to transition our leadership, and grew by over 30%, all while our team worked remotely for 14 months to deliver big results. Amidst all of this, we helped our clients through the most critical of times to emerge stronger.”

Ubhi and Eanes’ appointments are part of a long-term leadership succession plan which has been under development for the past 10 years. The plan also encompasses the leadership transition of the LFS Pacific Claims Practice.

Raymond Dion, who has led LFS Pacific Claims for the past 11 years as Senior Vice President, Insurance & Claims Counsel, has retired, however he will remain as a part-time legal advisor to the LFS Pacific Claims team.

With over 35 years as a practicing attorney, Dion developed and led the LFS Claims Practice in the Pacific region and has been instrumental in growing the LFS Claims Practice nationally.

Now leading the LFS Pacific Claims practice is Betsy Carpenter, Senior Vice President, Insurance & Claims Counsel. She has practiced law for over 30 years, of which she has been Lockton for 18. In her new role, she will also serve the LFS Claims Group internationally.
