Marsh McLennan has appointed Francis Bouchard to its Advantage team as Managing Director of Climate.
Bouchard will be responsible for the team’s climate strategy and for developing and delivering solutions from across Marsh McLennan that help clients create resilient strategies for the future.
He will work closely with executives and climate leaders in the company’s four businesses and will also contribute to the company’s stance on climate change’s impact on society and business.
Prior to joining Marsh McLennan, Bouchard spent over 20 years with Zurich Insurance Group in a series of global roles, most recently as the Group Head of Public Affairs and Sustainability, where he led government affairs, sustainability and philanthropic initiatives.
Bouchard will continue as Chairman of SBP, a non-profit disaster resilience organisation, working to address the impact of disasters on low-income populations.
He is also a senior fellow of the Atlantic Council Resilience Center and a member of AGree Economic and Environmental Risk Coalition, which advocates for crop insurance reform to help incentivise sustainable agriculture practices.
Greg Sinnott, Executive Director commented: “Francis’s multi-disciplinary experience in the insurance industry and across the sustainability, government and social impact arenas, will be essential in helping our clients navigate a path through the disruption posed by climate change.”
Bouchard added: “I look forward to partnering with Marsh McLennan’s leaders to advise clients through this period of transformation.”
