QBE to drive EU expansion with branch in the Netherlands

Australian insurer and reinsurer, QBE Insurance Group Limited has announced plans to set up a branch in the Netherlands.

QBEThe planned branch will play a major role in the company’s European expansion plans.

QBE has noted that recruitment is underway to fill a number of different key roles for the Netherlands branch, across claims, underwriting, operations and finance, with a view to be writing business incepting from January 2023, subject to regulatory approval however, in the meantime.

Moreover, QBE also stated that the Netherlands branch will have a multi-national offering which provides flexible and compliant cover for more than 180 countries.

Sebastiaan Lambalk, Strategy Executive for QBE Europe will be leading the establishment of the Netherlands branch and overseeing the creation of the local team.

Currently, QBE is recruiting to fill the following roles: Underwriting Manager, Operations Manager, Head of roles for Property/Liability/Financial Lines/Construction and various Underwriting roles, Claims Manager, Market Manager.
