Specialty insurance broker One80 Intermediaries has appointed Rick Grimes as National Wholesale Practice Leader.
In the role, Grimes will lead One80’s wholesale distribution strategy for key lines of business, which includes property, casualty, financial lines, excess, life sciences and environmental coverages.
Prior to this appointment, Grimes served as Managing Director & Financial Lines Practice Leader. Within this role he held responsibility for the development, delivery, and growth of Management Liability, Professional Liability and Cyber offerings across the One80 network.
Grimes joined One80 during the acquisition of Professional Risk Solutions, where he was the company President, and oversaw production, day-to-day staff management and client relations.
Grimes started his career in the insurance industry serving as Assistant Vice President at Chubb’s Executive Protection Division and Regional Vice President at Travelers.
Commenting on his new role, Grimes said: “I look forward to further expanding my responsibilities across the One80 organization. I have excellent relationships with the One80’s wholesale brokerage team and look forward to partnering with them as we continue to grow the business.”

In November 2022, One80 acquired Comprehensive Planning – Goodman LLC. (CPG), an independent brokerage and managing general agency specialising in life insurance.
Additionally, in September 2022, the broker also acquired Asian American insurer, C&M First Services.
