14th February 2023 - Author: Jack Willard

Ryan Specialty, a service provider of specialty products and solutions for insurance, brokers, agents and carriers, has announced the formation of its global transactional risk practice – Ryan Transactional Risk.

The firm is creating this global managing general underwriting practice by combining the operations of Concord Specialty Risks – headquartered in New York City – and Ryan Specialty Transactional Risks International – headquartered in London.

The practice will be led by four Managing Directors, who are each longstanding executives of one of the existing managing general underwriters (MGUs).

James Montgomery, George Pearce and Rich Stansfield will be leading Representations & Warranties and Warranty & Indemnity insurance.

David S. De Berry will lead Specific Litigation and Contingent Liability insurance management, innovation, and global expansion.

Furthermore, Tax insurance will be coordinated by the Managing Directors, who will be supported by regional leadership and expertise from Bill Kellogg (North America) and Kerry Westwell (Rest of World).

“The unification of these two exceptional MGUs will enhance both service and solutions to our global clients and carrier trading partners. This new approach will continue to be supported by our growing network of expertise composed of roughly 55 teammates in this practice, served out of eight locations globally,” commented Miles Wuller, President & CEO of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers.

In late 2022, it was reported that Ryan Specialty had signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of Griffin Underwriting Services.
