Selective overhauls leadership team

Selective Insurance Group, a P&C insurer holding company, has announced the appointment of a dozen key leadership team members, including Shadi Albert as executive vice president, insurance strategy and business development.

handshakeAlbert joined Selective in 2013 and most recently served as senior vice president, regional manager for the firm’s southwest region.

Prior to Selective, he served as assistant vice president, rating agency and enterprise risk advisory at Willis Towers Watson.

John Bresney joins as executive vice president, chief information officer. He joined Selective in 1994 as a management trainee and programmer and most recently served as senior vice president.

Gordon Gaudet, who joined in 2013, will serve as executive vice president, chief innovation officer. He most recently served as executive vice president, chief information officer.

Prior to that, he spent nine years as a director and co-lead of Deloitte Consulting’s Insurance Core System Transformation practice in Chicago.

Brenda Hall has been appointed executive vice president, commercial lines Chief Operating Officer. He joined selective in 2001 and since 2015 and served as senior vice president, chief strategic operations officer.

Nathan Rugge has been appointed senior vice president, actuarial reserving and joined in 2009 as an actuarial assistant. He most recently served as assistant vice president, actuarial pricing.

Eva Gonzalez will serve as vice president, product development for Selective’s excess and surplus lines operation. She joined in 2013 as assistant vice president, general liability and umbrella line of business leader and most recently served as vice president, commercial lines underwriting for mercantile and small business.

Amy Cusack joined in 2006 and will serve as assistant vice president, innovation and strategy. She most recently served as director, strategic operations.

Robert England will serve as assistant vice president, enterprise development services. He joined as assistant vice president, enterprise infrastructure and security architecture in 2014.

Linda Link joined in 1999 and has been appointed assistant vice president, underwriting quality assurance. She most recently served as a segment manager in Selective’s small business SBU.

George Melvin becomes assistant vice president, claims operations and automation. He joined in 2010 and most recently served as director of claims automation. Prior to joining Selective, he served as a claims training manager at American Modern Insurance Group.

Steven Neal will serve as assistant vice president, line of business manager. He joined late last year and prior to that served as director of strategic sales capabilities for the middle and large commercial business segment at The Hartford.

Ernest Williams also joined in late 2019 and has been appointed assistant vice president, assistant controller. Prior to joining Selective he served as an accounting manager with National General Holdings Corp.
