NewRe, a Property and Casualty reinsurance company part of Munich Re Group, has announced the appointment of Dr. Claudia Strametz as President of its Board of Directors.
A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the reinsurance market, Strametz has built an impressive career at Munich Re Group where she was in charge of the company’s Non-Life business in several countries in Continental Europe.
Recently, her responsibilities expanded to include the Non-life business in Germany, Cyber Underwriting for both Europe and Latin America, managing the German Pharma Pool, and overseeing Munich Re of Malta.
Speaking on behalf of NewRe, Thomas Braune, CEO, said: “Today we are excited to welcome Claudia Strametz. Her international and deep industry expertise make her an excellent addition to our Board of Directors. We are confident that her contributions will be instrumental to our future success.”
Strametz is taking over the position from Claudia Hasse, who stepped down from the function after six years on NewRe’s Board of Directors.
