Volante Global, an international managing general agent platform and Lloyd’s Syndicate, has appointed Laxmeekant Walikar as managing director of the Indian Subcontinent.
Walikar made the announcement on LinkedIn where he also mentions that he is responsible for setting up Volante Syndicate 1699 in India.
The Syndicate 1699 was created to bring business to Lloyd’s through Volante’s existing international network of nine local service companies, which will underwrite in eight classes across five continents.
“Liaise and coordinate with Lloyd’s India and IRDAI to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations,” Walikar mentioned on his LinkedIn profile.
Based in Mumbai, he will help the company develop and implement the overall strategic roadmap and underwrite profitable book of business for the assigned regions.
Walikar posted, “I’m happy to share that I’m started a new position as Managing Director- Indian Subcontinent at Volante Global!”
According to his LinkedIn profile, Walikar joined the firm in November 2022.
Prior to this role, he served as the Chief Underwriting Officer at AXA XL, a division of AXA. He held other Treaty Underwriting roles at Emirates Insurance Company and Saudi Re.
