Specialist reinsurance managing general agent (MGA), Connect Underwriting Limited has appointed Ahsan Abdul Majid as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for its newly launched holding company: ConnectUW Holdings LTD.
The new business has been established as a parent company for Connect Underwriting’s expanding insurance entities within the London Market.
The new company has been set up to manage the group’s investment strategy, which includes capital raising and leveraging strategic opportunities and initiatives that support Connect Underwriting’s expansion.
Majid joins Connect Underwriting from Gallagher where he held the role of Executive VP.
Within his role as CCO of ConnectUW Holdings, Majid will work alongside the group’s chairman and CEO – Jamil Elbahou, to identify and capitalise on commercial and investment opportunities.
As CCO, he will also take on a broad business development role for the group in the international markets.
Elbahou said: “Having previously worked with Ahsan, I am extremely pleased to welcome him back to the team. I look forward to working with him to identify new opportunities for the group as we continue to grow the business in the London Market and overseas.”

In late 2022, Connect Underwriting launched Pixel Re, a dedicated monoline reinsurance vehicle for global property and downstream energy risks.
