HIVE Underwriters, a London-based managing general agent (MGA), has announced the appointment of Jay Wigmore as Class Underwriter, as part of the company’s expansion into the General Aviation (GA) class.
According to the announcement, in his new role, Wigmore will be responsible for building the GA portfolio at HIVE and will report to Bruce Carman, Chief Underwriting Officer.
Wigmore said: “I am excited to be joining HIVE to build on the successes already achieved. Bruce and his team have established a great position and reputation in the market. I welcome the opportunity to become part of the team.”
Prior to joining HIVE, Wigmore spent 21 years with Tokio Marine Kiln, with his most recent position being Head of General Aviation and Product Development.
Commenting on Wigmore’s appointment, Carman said: “I have no doubt he will not only build a premium GA portfolio but also assist with the development of HIVE as we look to create a frictionless risk transfer platform.
“It is testament to HIVE’s dynamic team that we continue to attract high calibre underwriting talent like Jay, with a proven track record of profitability. I look forward to welcoming Jay to HIVE and working closely with him.”
HIVE Underwriters is now in its fifth year of trading and underwrites an expansive Aviation account on behalf of a panel of first-class carriers, each offering S&P A+ rated security.
