International insurance broker Howden, has announced the appointment of Federico Casini as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Howden Italy.
In his new role, Casini will lead a business that is now the third largest broker in the country, and that, through significant investment in expertise, infrastructure and data and analytics, offers choice to Italian and multinational clients, according to the broker.
Howden Italy, was established in 2021 and now employs over 800 people having grown significantly following a series of strategic acquisitions. These include Assiteca, one of Italy’s largest brokers, and most recently Assimovie, a market leader in TV and film insurance.

Casini has close to 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and is joining the broker from Aon SpA, where he has spent the past 17 years, holding the position of Executive Chairman, his most recent position, where he oversaw the business development and co-ordination of Aon’s Italian operations.
He has also previously held senior roles at leading broking firms including Poseidon Insurance Brokers and Sanpaolo Imi Insurance Broker Spa.
