MS Amlin appoints Sedgwick Intl.’s Julie Ross as Product Recall Senior Underwriter

Lloyd’s global re/insurer MS Amlin has hired Julie Ross as Product Recall Senior Underwriter. Her appointment will come into effect in September, and she will report to Neil Walker, Co-Deputy CUO and Head of Specialty Insurance.

ms-amlin-logoIn her new role, Ross will hold responsibility for overseeing the team and supporting its MS Amlin’s clients in navigating the evolving, reputational, regulatory, and operational risks associated with product recall and contamination incidents.

With more than two decades of experience on both the underwriting and broking side, Ross brings a vast degree of industry knowledge and leadership towards the role.

She has specialised in product recall and crisis management for much of her career. In addition, she also possesses a proven track record for building out services and managing international teams to effectively handle highly complex accounts.

Ross joins MS Amlin from Sedgwick International, where she was the International Business Development Director for Brand Protection Services.  Whilst serving in this role, she was in charge of sourcing new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, as well as providing subject matter expertise for brand protection across Sedgwick’s 65 international offices.

Moreover, Ross began her career in the industry working as an underwriter at American Insurance Group (AIG), quickly progressing on to serve in senior roles at Marsh, and Liberty Insurance.

In other related news, MS Amlin recently launched a new AI-powered claims triage capability, marking the first in a series of developments originating from a newly formed partnership with global professional services firm, Genpact.

The partnership between the two firms will see Genpact supporting a variety of functions to transform MS Amlin’s processes and accelerate its ability to provide leading client service.
