Lloyd’s of London insurer and Argo Group subsidiary ArgoGlobal has announced the additions of Henry Gillingham as political violence and war class underwriter, Chris Marsh as underwriter, and Chris Sparrow as underwriting assistant.
All three were recruited from Starstone and will take up their new roles with immediate effect.
Marsh and Sparrow will report directly to Henry Gillingham, and Gillingham will report to Jeremy Shallow, head of specialty.
Gillingham brings nearly two decades of underwriting experience to ArgoGlobal and previously served as head of political violence and war at Starstone, following earlier roles at Talbot.
Marsh, meanwhile, was an underwriter of terror and political violence at Starstone, before which he spent five year in the terrorism and political violence division at Neon Underwriting.
Also joining ArgoGlobal from Starstone, Sparrow previously served as an underwriting assistant.
Insuring risks associated with political violence and war is a new segment for Argo’s Syndicate 1200.
“Henry, Chris and Chris are key appointments whose skills and expertise will strengthen our capabilities in political violence and war lines,” said Jeremy Shallow, head of specialty at ArgoGlobal.
“In an unstable world, there is increasing demand from clients for coverage against these risks and our underwriters have an excellent market reputation as effective leaders, with access to appropriate capacity and an ability to influence price and policy conditions,” Shallow continued.
“Their combined experience of our new arrivals will enhance the breadth of services we can offer our clients. I am very pleased to welcome them to the team.”
