Mark Twite has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AXA XL Reinsurance Bermuda, the property and casualty and specialty risk unit of global insurer AXA.
From 3 October, Twite will be responsible for the strategic growth of the business in Bermuda, ensuring capital is effectively deployed in order to drive a stable and sustainable portfolio as part of AXA XL reinsurance division.
Prior to his new role, he was Chief Financial Officer at AXA XL, he has also held a number of senior positions within the company, including Head of Strategic Business Finance for the AXA XL Division, while also maintaining his role as Head of Assumed Reinsurance Finance.
In addition, Twite is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and he qualified from Deloitte & Touche in 1998 while working in their London Insurance practice.
Commenting on the appointment, Nancy Bewlay, Chief Executive Officer, Reinsurance said: “Mark’s 30 year experience in the industry coupled with his 18 year tenure at AXA XL in Bermuda places him in the ideal position to deliver for our global clients and brokers in this key market and lead our talented team.”
The news of Twite’s appointment as CEO, Bermuda, follows Katy Bradica’s, whose appointment as Chief Pricing Actuary for AXA XL Reinsurance was announced in August. As well as Peter Kiernan’s and Simon Penney’s, who were appointed US property for Bermuda reinsurance and Head of Underwriting Analytics, London, respectively.
