Lloyd’s syndicate Arcus 1856 rebrands to IQUW

1st July 2021 - Author: Luke Gallin

ERS Group’s Lloyd’s syndicate, Arcus 1856 has rebranded as IQUW as it looks to put into effect its vision to rebuild into a more diverse, multi-line insurer and reinsurer.

IQUWEffective today, the new brand signals a shift from the previous branding of the syndicate and repositions the firm as it transitions into an agile operation that will leverage data and intelligent automation.

The rebrand to IQUW comes after confirmation of its mid-year pre-emption approval which has seen the firm’s stamp capacity increase by 65%, enabling it to grow across existing lines of business.

This includes Marine and Energy, Terror and War, Cargo and Specie, Professional Lines, Property, Cyber, Specialty Reinsurance (including Aviation and Marine) and Property Reinsurance.

“I’m excited to launch IQUW as we continue to evolve our business. The new branding begins to bring our strategy to life as we build new ways to manage our clients’ most complex risks by transitioning into an agile business with data analytics and automation at its core,” said ERS Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Peter Bilsby.

“We have made a tremendous amount of progress in a very short space of time. Having raised further capital, gained approval to write new lines of business, successfully recruited some of the best talent in the industry and received pre-emption for an increased in stamp capacity, we are now ready to take our next steps forward as IQUW,” he added.

The syndicate is managed by Arch Managing Agency Limited and backed by motor insurer ERS, who announced it would take over the entity from Credit Suisse ILS in December of last year.
