Global insurance brokerage, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has acquired Queensbury, New York-based Hughes Insurance Agency, Inc.
Hughes Insurance Agency is a provider of comprehensive commercial, personal and life & health insurance services for independent businesses and individuals across the Northeastern United States.
At this time, terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
According to the announcement, Linda Abodeely, Joe Koncikowski and their team will continue to operate out of their current location as part of Gallagher Agency Alliance, under the direction of Jen Tadin, Managing Director of Gallagher’s Global Small Business practice.
Moreover, Gallagher Agency Alliance is a merger & acquisitions model partnering with agencies that specialize in small business property & casualty insurance and employee benefits.

Arthur J. Gallagher has made a number of acquisitions across the industry throughout the past few months.
Just recently, the firm acquired acquired certain assets of the retail agency business of East Lansing, Michigan-based Coverys Insurance Services.
Also in November, the brokerage acquired Cobram, Victoria-based Edgar Insurance Brokers, and Dublin, Ireland-based Keaney Insurance Brokers Ltd.
In October, the brokerage also acquired Michigan-based Meadowbrook Insurance Agency, and The Coverage Pro, an Arizona-based retail insurance broker expert, as well as Altman Insurance Services.
